PlayStation State of Play September 2022: News, announcements & trailers - Polygon

PlayStation never seems to miss when it comes to new announcements. This continues to be the case in the latest PlayStation State of Play event. There was a lot to be discussed and even more to pore through when it comes to the next generation of games for this year and the beginning of next. If you happened to miss the show, don't worry! We've got you taken care of with everything you need to know below:

Tekken 8

The game has been teased for years, but we finally received a first look at the game in action. There was gameplay revealed as well as a short introduction to the characters that players can expect to see. There was no official release window announced but it definitely looks like we will get more information as the year progresses.

Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge Enhanced Edition

This isn't necessarily a new announcement, as the game originally released in 2020 for the Oculus Quest, but PSVR2 players will be able to enjoy it now later in 2023.

Demeo

Demeo was also announced to be getting a rerelease on PSVR2 with a  release window of later next year. Players will be able to enjoy the four-player tabletop RPG with even more excitement than ever before.

Like a Dragon: Ishin!

Following in the footsteps of previously popular Like a Dragon / Yakuza games, Ishin! will be a remake of the 2014 game that never made it to the west. It's set to launch in February 2023 and instead of using the ever-popular Dragon Engine, this will be the first RGG Studio game built using Unreal Engine 4!

Hogwarts Legacy

Not much more information was talked about regarding the Harry Potter-inspired game though it looks like there will be an exclusive quest for players on the PS4 and PS5. The game is still set to launch on February 10.

Pacific Drive

This game is a new project from developer Ironwood Studios that looks to be a car ride through a dystopian world. There was no official release date but there was a window of 2023.

PlayStation Stars

The program is PlayStations introduction to NFT rewards for players. There will be more information on this as the month progresses.

Synduality

Do you like fighting games with mechs? Synduality mixes third-person robot action with guns and attractive protagonists. It's set to release for the PlayStation 5 later next year.

Stellar Blade

This game was at one point in time called “Project EVE,” but now it’s got a new name and a fresh trailer, too. The game is set to be a PlayStation 5 exclusive with a release window of some time in 2023.

Rise of the Ronin

Developer Team Ninja surprised everyone with their announcement for Rise of the Ronin. The game is set to release in 2024, unlike most of the other games on this list, but will most likely be for PlayStation 5 upon release. It's described as a "sprawling action-RPG" but not much more information was provided outside of the trailer.

God of War: Ragnarök Controller / Story Trailer

Fans received not only a new trailer for the upcoming God of War: Ragnarök but a new controller as well. The new PS5 DualSense controller will be available for fans on the same day as the launch of the game; November 9. It includes a sweet, blue color scheme with wolf etchings on the touchpad.
