From my standing, the Xbox Showcase was the greatest games showcase in recent memory. Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest might have been a little under a week ago, but Microsoft managed to blow it out of the water with a few announcements of their own. Immediately after the show, we were graced with a new gameplay and story trailer for Starfield. This gave players an added level to their excitement as the project looks even better than what had already been shown. It looks like Starfield will be tough competition for Game of the Year, especially as Bethesda's newest IP in years.

Starfield was definitely Xbox's biggest hit at the show. It even had it's own direct dedicated to the trailer above. In it, we saw in-game gameplay, different cities that you can find, and even different planetary terrains. This title looks incredibly ambitious, and the trailer proved the hard work and dedication that the developers have poured into it, as evident from earlier trailers. While the game always looked top-notch, comparing previous trailers with this one truly shows the graphical differences between the two.
The official Starfield-themed Xbox controller, wireless headset, and collector's edition were also announced, with an immediate street date for the peripherals. So, you can pick up the peripherals now in anticipation of the full release on September 6.
Forza has managed to cement itself as one of the greatest simulation racing games of all time. Over the years, each installment has only gotten better and better. The newest cover cars were shown off as well as some intense in-game footage. We should expect to get an even better look under the hood on October 10.
The first game in the Hellblade series followed the protagonist Senua through a Nordic journey that details the realities of mental health. It is a story of suffering that has swept the gaming community of its feet through imagery and sound that gives players a deep understanding of the darkness that the developers wanted to convey in th story. Luckily, the game will have a sequel that should pick up right where the previous one left off since Senua asks you to join her on another journey. We can expect it sometime in 2024.
Older fans of the Xbox console should remember the first three Fable games. Each one took place in Albion and featured a different protagonist on his way to becoming a better version of himself using the good and bad deeds that you've done along the way. The series is playful, and funny, and offers a new perspective on the idea of open-world RPGs that take place in a medieval setting. With this version, it looks like the series will be turned on its head, inviting fans who have never even heard of the series to join in on the fun.
