Everything You Missed During September's Nintendo Direct

What a great Direct it was!
by Natalie Collazo on September 14, 2023

Today's 40-minute Nintendo Direct highlighted everything that was still in Nintendo's back pocket for the rest of this year including titles like Super Mario RPG Remake and Luigi's Mansion 2. The entire event was stocked with surprises and announcements that would get any die-hard Nintendo fan excited. Considering that, we wrote out everything announced and included their trailers for you to enjoy.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

Returning to its sidescrolling roots, we should expect to see Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown on January 24 of this coming year. The newest trailer can be seen above.

Princess Peach: Showtime!

A new Princess Peach game had been announced to be in the works, but we didn't know when it would be announced or what it was going to be about. Now, we finally got our answer in Princess Peach: Showtime! Peach will be able to possess different powers that take on the form of different clothes that she can wear. It's scheduled to be released on March 22 of next year, so mark your calendars and be ready for the next Direct since Nintendo also announced that there was more to see about the game!

Mario vs. Donkey Kong

Taking more of their previous games and remaking them, it looks like Mario vs. Donkey Kong is next on the list! The famed Gameboy Advance game from 2004 finds Donkey Kong sending windup Mario toys at Mario who needs to avoid them in a series of puzzles and obstacles. I wonder if the fight scene between the two during the most recent Super Mario Bros. Movie happened to spark this idea.

Splatoon 3: Expansion Pass

Splatoon 3's upcoming DLC, Side Order, is set to be released sometime in spring 2024 and is meant to be one that can be replayed again and again. You'll return to Inkopolis Square from the previous game and journey through the Spire of Order to level up your abilities.

Trombone Champ

Rhythm games have nothing on Trombone Champ. Players will be able to become professional trombone players by using the Joy-Con controllers to successfully match the highs and lows of the trombone. It will be available later today on the Switch eShop for players to enjoy.

Luigi's Mansion 2 HD

Luigi's Mansion 2: Dark Moon was one of the more popular installments in the Luigi's Mansion franchise. Now, the sequel will be brought to the Nintendo Switch simply under the name Luigi's Mansion 2 HD. It will be released during the summer of next year and is the final game needed to complete the trilogy on Switch.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Remake

Paper Mario is finally back and better than ever. The GameCube edition of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door was wildly popular and the paper designs will be making their way to the Switch at some point in 2024. The designs absolutely hold up and it's possible that this game will be the title that brings back the series to the forefront!

F-Zero 99

What would a Nintendo Direct be without a retro game announcement? F-Zero 99 is an online battle royale game in which you and 98 other players race on a single track. You'll have the option to choose between all of the carts that were available in the original F-Zero games and it's currently available now.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Booster Course Pass

The final DLC in the Booster Course Pass for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will be including several fan-favorite characters including Paulina, Peachette, and Funky Kong. It will also include one new course as well.

Nintendo Museum

Nintendo announced that it plants to convert the Nintendo Uji Ogura Plant located in Kyoto, japan into a gallery. The gallery is planned display several projects and is set to finish construction sometime in March 2024. There hasn't been an opening date announcement or exactly what will be available, but chances are that we will find out soon enough.

Dave the Diver

Dave the Diver is one of the biggest indie titles to grace our screens this year, and it's coming to Nintendo Switch on October 26. Part restaurant simulator and part fishing game, Dave the Diver manages to mix up several genres and do it really, really well.

Among Us

It's coming once again. Among Us was an incredible hit during the Covid-19 pandemic, and it continues to be so in many gaming communities. The latest update, The Fungle, is set to release soon and will place crew members on a deserted island. Of course, your crew members can be traitors and turn their back on you to be the last one standing.

Another Code Recollection

The bundle, which will include Another Code: Trace Memory and Another Code: R, is set to release on January 19. The first game is a remake of the Nintendo Ds game of the same name from 2005 which follows Ashley Misuki Robbins who is on the search for her missing father. There are captivating puzzles that must be completed using the system's touchscreen.

Super Mario RPG Remake

Super Mario RPG Remake is probably the biggest remake of an older game that Nintendo has recently taken on. It is set to release on November 17 and is a completely new game from the ground up that follows the same story as the original with a few gameplay twists. The trailer above gives away some new details and makes the hype even higher.

WarioWare Move It!

Get your groove on in WarioWare Move It! coming on November 3. You'll use the Joy-Con controllers to play through a number of mini-mini-games quickly to beat the clock and beat your friends. Of course, in normal Wario fashion, everything will be done through an odd and over-the-top lens.

Tomb Raider I - III Remastered Starring Lara Croft

The first three Tomb Raider games are making a comeback on the Nintendo Switch. This version of the games includes improved graphics and playable gameplay as the PC version was nearly impossible to get through.
