Dying Light 2 Day One Patch Has Over 1000 Bug Fixes

Dying Light 2 has more to worry about than zombies as bugs fill the game in a pre-launch state.
by Adam Braunstein on February 03, 2022

The one thing you want to hear when a game is released after undergoing an insane amount of hype and release delays is that it is riddled with bugs beyond belief. Oh, wait....no, that's not what you want to hear at all, but that's, unfortunately, the case as Dying Light 2's Day One Patch is going to fix over 1000 things that the game came shipped with. There are a number of ways to look at this one. In the pre-release version, there were bugs such as crashing, missing dialogues that would prevent you from progressing in the story, and even missing sounds and voices. These are all very bad things and I'm glad that Dying Light 2 will have them fixed by the release date.

The other way to look at this is that the game that underwent tons of delays and even has some still with the Nintendo Switch version is looking this shaky already. So far, the game looks almost unplayable without all of these bugs being fixed, and for anyone that managed to get a hold of a copy before the release date, you likely have a pretty sour taste in your mouth right now and most review sites are suggesting to not even play it until this patch gets implemented. That's a brutal suggestion and honestly, a deserved one.

Despite all that though, Dying Light 2 looks to be an incredibly ambitious game and it's already been said that it will produce at least 5 years of additional content, so this is far from its final form. Bugs and all, Dying Light 2 is coming in two days on February 4th, 2022.
