Battlefield 2042 Season One Delayed

One of gamings biggest flops of 2021, Battlefield 2042 sees its first season delayed.
by Adam Braunstein on February 02, 2022

Battlefield 2042 is one of the biggest failures in recent memory when it comes to hype vs. actual product. We were looking forward to fighting tons of people online in a near-future world but instead, we got a buggy mess that got rid of the scoreboards for some reason, and instead, we were left with a game that felt more like an unfinished product than one of the best FPS games of our time as many hoped it would be.

Whether it crashes, map glitches, teammates looking exactly like each other or the incredibly underwhelming environment interact, Battlefield 2042 just proves time and time again that it needed way more time in the oven before getting a release. That seems to be a shared sentiment as its first season is now delayed until further notice. These delays have been called upon to try and fix the myriad of issues that plague the game currently. This would appear to be a maintenance period, but there may also be changes that get made to the actual season itself. Right now the main focus by the team behind Battlefield at DICE is going to be fixing server connectivity issues as well as UI problems

Season One is now going to be delayed indefinitely, but we can at least look forward to a kill and death scoring report at the end of rounds from now on. This long-asked-for feature will be added with the game's next update.
