CD Projekt Red Release Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 and Xbox Series X/S Versions

As well as new DLC, updates, and more
by Natalie Collazo on February 15, 2022

Finally! After feeling like we've waited so long for any information regarding the console versions of Cyberpunk 2077, we've gotten our wish. CD Projekt Red announced on a live Twitch stream today that PS5 and Xbox Series X/S upgrades will be available as well as several other announcements including a free trial version of the game, a 50GB 1.5 update patch for all platforms, and free DLC. They also included an overview of what players can expect to experience when they load up the game; including the fact that while Xbox Series X/S users will have the game available as a patch upgrade, PS5 users will need to redownload the game in its entirety and then transfer any save data they might have from the PS4 version.

In regards to new DLC, players can expect several improvements including the ability to customize your appearance in your apartment's bathroom mirror as well as more hair and make-up options. You'll also have the option to be able to purchase upgrades for your apartment and purchase new properties across Night City if you so choose to. In addition to these new properties, romantic partners will have new scenes and dialogues that take place there. New weaponry can be purchased after a certain point in the game and several secrets that were not revealed will be added for fans to find during their time exploring. If you aren't sure whether or not you want to pick up the game at all (even after the announcement of all of these new additions) the free trial will grant players 5 hours of the game that expires after 30 days.

The 1.5 patch update aims to add even more improvements like a reworked perks tree and more clever NPC AIs for even more dynamic fights and realism. The in-game economy has also been reworked to be far more balanced, driving has been upgraded to feel more realistic, the HUB has been upgraded with declutter filters, and even skipping time in the game will have new effects such as your immediate crowds changing.

The best part of the entire announcement was that all of this would be available for fans to enjoy starting today.
