Still No Luck For PS4 Users Playing Cyberpunk 2077 Playing On Disk

Just when we thought the major issues were solved.
by Natalie Collazo on February 18, 2022

It was only earlier this week that CD Projekt Red had released the highly-anticipated 1.5 patch fix and update to the critically acclaimed Cyberpunk 2077. While plenty of improvements can be seen on the next generation of consoles as well as on PC, there is no denying that the game still lacks the same standard on PS4.

While the patch added things like the ability to re-customize your character and patch fixes to major bugs, PS4 players are experiencing the exact opposite. Players are reporting launch errors and corrupted data messages as well as instructions to completely delete the game from the console and reinstall it. Even after completing these steps, plenty of people are still reporting that they are unable to enjoy the new additions to Night City.

Some fans took to the official CD Projekt Red forums with their own thoughts which prompted global community director Marcin Momot to respond with acknowledgment of the issue.

Thanks for all the feedback regarding Patch 1.5 so far. We really appreciate all the messages arriving from all over the world – please keep them coming.

We wanted to take a moment to let you know that at the moment we are looking into the following problems reported by some players:

  • The disc version not launching on PS4 after applying the patch.
  • Game crashing on launch on the PC (audio software-related). Please check a potential workaround below.

The crash is most likely caused by audio software conflict. So far we've identified this issue with audio drivers such as A-Volute, Nahimic or Sonic Studio. We're currently investigating.

Meanwhile, as a temporary solution, we recommend disabling said drivers before launching the game. You can also try following the steps we described in this article:

Hopefully, we will see a fix to this soon enough but considering how long it took to get the updates and fixes that we've already gotten, I wouldn't hold my breath. Regardless, keep up with DailyGamer for more news and updates on Cyberpunk 2077.
