Devs Assure that God Of War Ragnarök Still Slated for 2022

It looks like the PS4 and PS5 game will not be delayed!
by Natalie Collazo on April 22, 2022

Earlier this week, we received an update about the progress of God of War Ragnarök from none other than creative director Cory Barlog himself, on the fourth-anniversary release of the initial God of War reboot. The update included information about how to game is progressing as well as the fact that the team is not ready to share anything at the moment. This led to many fans in the replies asking if the game was going to be delayed until 2023 since the topic was not brushed on.

In fact, the video prompted one Twitter user to ask Ragnarök animation director Bruno Velasquez directly if the game was still on track to release this year after he had shared the video on his personal Twitter page. In a wave of relief, he responded that the game was going to be released this year.

It was widely known that the game experienced initial delays when Kratos voice actor Christopher Judge suffered an injury that caused him to undergo back surgery among other replacement surgeries. The team at Santa Monica Studios waited for him to make a full recovery before continuing work on the game. Now it seems that the studio wants to ensure that their fans are rewarded for their patience as soon as possible.

Check back with DailyGamer for more news and information from both Santa Monica Studios and God of War Ragnarök.
