Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Officially Launch on November 18

A new trailer showcases all new characters and gameplay!
by Natalie Collazo on June 01, 2022

The wait is finally over! The Pokémon Company have officially shown off the second trailer for the upcoming Pokémon Scarlet and Violet as well as their release dates! Both games will be launching this November 18 for the Nintendo Switch and will be featuring a vast open world filled with incredible landscapes and two new dragon-like legendary Pokémon - Koraidon and Miraidon - among many others. The gameplay mimics that of the installments previous to Pokémon Legends: Arceus though the visuals seem to be a vast improvement from the aforementioned with more attention to detail than normal. They also showed off a few of the characters we can expect as well as the character customizations that players will be able to obtain to make this adventure their very own.

Two new Professors, Professor Sada and Professor Turo as well as another character named Nemona were touched on though their involvement in the story was not made clear. New Pokémon were also shown off in the trailer as well as their names and a few descriptions that bring them to life. These Pokémon include:

LeChonk

LeChonk

A pig-like Normal-type Pokémon, LeChonk radiates an aroma as a result of its eating habits that Bug Pokémon absolutely detest.

Pawmi

Pawmi

Pawmi is an Electric Pokémon that can discharge electricity from its forepaws and generate it by rubbing its cheeks!

Smoliv

Smoliv

Smoliv makes its appearance as used by Nemona. This Pokémon will create an oil that it will launch at its enemies before trying to run away from them.

The covers for each respective game were also shown off, each detailing a different legendary Pokémon with Koraidon on the Scarlet cover and Miraidon on the Violet cover. The speculated steelbook case nor any pre-order bonuses were announced but it is very possible that a Nintendo Direct will fix that. Another interesting thing to note was that the region name was not announced nor whether there would be any particular Key Items that unlock different Pokémon powers similar to Mega evolutions or Z-Ring powers. Alongside these announcements, a four-player co-op was also announced which will allow players to explore the world together in a complete series first.

"Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet allow multiplayer gameplay with up to four players. Along with series staples, such as trading and battling Pokémon, you will be able to explore the various locations of the region in these games with other players. You can discover new Pokémon and explore unfamiliar areas with your friends and family, opening the door to an adventure more precious and fun than ever!"

Of course, the aforementioned Nintendo Direct will take care of all the information that we still have questions about so check back with DailyGamer for more news and information about Pokémon Scarlet and Violet as it gets released.
