We've gotten official word that Battlefield 2042's first official season of content will be launching on June 9! Players will have the chance to enjoy Season One: Zero Hour will all-new modes and a new battle pass. Involved in this update is a new Specialist by the name of Ewelina Lis who is armed with a rocket launcher. Her specialty is in taking down vehicles so expect helicopter and tank takedowns by her hand. She also comes equipped with the Armor Hunter trait that gives her intel on damaged vehicles. Players will also have access to a new crossbow with explosive rounds called the Ghostmaker R10 and the BSV-M Marksman rifle.

There will also be a new map titled Exposure which is set in the Canadian Rockies. Players will have access to intense aerial dogfights and surface-to-air combat. The map supports up to 64 players in Breakthrough mode and up to 128 players in Conquest mode. This comes after DICE removed the 128-player version of Breakthrough recently. The map is only a fraction of the content being introduced in the 12-week battle pass that will contain both free and premium content tiers.

Hopefully, this will all act as a bit of a fresh start for the game as it was met with well-deserved criticism at launch. Much of the game did not meet the standards that players were expecting and several issues remained persistent for a long time. It seems that developer DICE has been working hard to bring the game to a meaningful point and it looks to be getting closer and closer. In fact, it was also recently announced that the company planned on reworking major aspects of the game including reducing player count size, and "winding down: on Hazard Zone.
