EA Sports Vows That Their Last FIFA Will Be Their Greatest

Saying good bye to a 30-year lineage.

FIFA 23 launches September 30 on PS4 and PS5: first details – PlayStation.Blog

After this year, we can expect there to no longer be FIFA games made by EA Sports. The developers at EA Vancouver have decided to give the series a final hurrah with FIFA 23. They plan to provide some new gameplay features including 1v1 cross-platform multiplayer as well as the World Cup and Women's World Cup available at launch for the first time in the same game. This is great news considering that the debut of the women's professional soccer club comes almost seven years after women's national teams joined the game.

While these changes are exciting, there are still a few things to note before heading into the final game in the long-running franchise. The cross-platform feature only works in the same console family, which means PS4 with PS5 and Xbox One with Xbox Series X|S. Regardless of that, the feature was highly requested and put EA into high gear for the feature to return in future games. Alongside all of this, it was also announced that the game will be launching on PC which normally takes about two years after the console release of the same game.

New facial animation technology, as well as new machine learning and even goalie interactions with the ball, are all new features that fans can expect from the title.
