Blizzard Wont Host Another Beta Event Before Release

Players must patiently wait for its official release

Overwatch 2 will be heading to platforms this October much to the anticipation of fans old and new. Two betas were available for a limited time which let players try out the game alongside the newest characters and modes. Today, it looks like those who missed their chance will need to wait until the official launch date to play the game. Overwatch Commercial Leader Tweeted yesterday that although it's officially two months out until the release of the game, no more public beta tests are planned between now and then.

Of course, it's difficult to say whether or not another beta round is really needed but there are plenty of fans who would like to see how much more the game has improved since the last beta according to feedback. There are also plenty of valid concerns about the overall state of the game as several things have been changed from the initial announcement including existing characters being majorly overhauled and 6v6 play being changed to 5v5.

While it's possible that they just want to wait for the full release of the game for players to make more feedback, it's also possible that Blizzard is simply just satisfied by what they've improved upon. Regardless, it isn't uncommon for games to release relatively unfinished so that players can provide more real-time feedback without jeopardizing the release timeline.
