by Natalie Collazo on June 14, 2022

How Would You Grade The Xbox Games Showcase Extended 2022? - Xbox News

To close this year's Summer Game Fest, Xbox launched another half of their showcase. In it, we saw more of what was shown this past weekend at their showcase with Bethesda plus new content. A lot of great titles got their feature in the live stream so if you happened to miss the show, we've got you covered. We highlighted all of the biggest announcements below followed up by everything else that we saw.

Valheim Coming to Xbox Game Pass

Popular PC Viking-simulator Valheim was announced to be coming to Game Pass this fall. This is the PC version of the game so they also announced a console version in spring 2023 as a console exclusive. The game takes you to a nordic landscape where you must fight enemies, craft for resources, and fight against the elements if you want to survive. The game is reminiscent of titles like Ark and Minecraft where you must rely on your personal abilities in order to progress through the story.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Similar to games like Friday the 13th and Evil Dead: The Game, developer Gun showed of gameplay for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The game is based on the true events from which the film series originates: serial killer Ed Gein. It will be a multiplayer horror game that will be available for all modern consoles, with a console launch exclusive for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. There was no official release date given though it is expected sometime in 2023.

Slime Rancher 2

This fall will see the release of multiplayer team-shooter, Slime Rancher. The trailer showed off all kinds of new gameplay and areas for players to explore. They also announced that the game will be made available on Xbox Game Pass on day one.

Halo Collaboration in Fall Guys

Epic Games and Mediatonic announced their collaboration with Halo in the Xbox versions of Fall Guys later this month. The collaboration is called "Spartan Showdown" and lets players earn Halo-themed costumes by completing different challenges while the event is live. This version will be made available on June 30.

Stalker 2 Devs Show Support for Ukraine

Stalker 2 had experienced a delay as well as a name change over this past year, but for good cause. Developer GSC Game World are Ukrainian game developers who have been developing this game in the midst of Russia's invasion of the former. The team interviewed with Xbox's Sarah Bond to discuss the hardships of working through these emotional events that led to an incredibly touching story. After showing off a cinematic trailer, it was confirmed that the game will launch sometime in 2023.

The rest of the show went on with discussions from popular game developers and publishers. Bethesda's Pete Hines took to the stage to discuss the delays of both Redfall and Starfield to 2023. He also discussed the amount of freedom that players will be able to experience in Starfield which is evident from the 15-minute long trailer that they just unveiled. The developers for games Naraka: Bladepoint and Ara: Stories Untold also showed off more of their games outside of the trailers that were shown during the Xbox/Bethesda showcase. We also can't forget to mention Justin Roiland's talk about Squanch Games' High on Life, a completely new game from the creator of Rick and Morty.

Lastly, a Game Pass feature titled Project Moorcroft was introduced by developer Bond. The feature will let developers put demos of their unreleased games in Game Pass to get feedback from other players. Not much more was announced about this but we can assume that this will become available either fall of 2022 or sometime in 2023.
