Marvel's Midnight Suns Officially Delayed

The Take-Two game is now slated for the second half of 2022
by Natalie Collazo on November 04, 2021

Take-Two Interactive announced today that the release of their highly anticipated Marvel's Midnight Suns is being delayed to the second half of 2022. As part of their second-quarter earnings announcement, the company implied that the delay is due to the increase in difficulty making games that match the currently available technology.

"While we don’t take delays lightly, we know that our proven success has been rooted firmly in our 'player-first' approach and unwavering commitment to delivering the highest quality entertainment experiences," reads the press release. "We believe it is far better to provide the extra time needed for a product – especially a new IP – to reach its full potential and drive long-term success as a permanent franchise in our industry-leading portfolio."

The game's official Twitter made a similar announcement  stating that the extra months after the initial March 2022 release window will be, "used to add more story, cinematics, and overall polish and will be essential in helping us make our vision a reality."

Marvel's Midnight Suns was initially revealed in August much to the excitement of fans featuring tactical XCOM-like gameplay with a customizable protagonist alongside a variety of favorite characters in destructible environments. Unlike the XCOM series, however, there will not be permadeath.
