NAF Extends Contract With Team Liquid

Three more years of NAF
by Tit Krajnik on November 30, 2021

Keith "NAF" Markovic renewed his contract with Team Liquid, the North American esports organization announced on Sunday, November 28. As revealed, the Canadian Counter-Strike: Global Offensive pro will remain with the organization through 2024.

An Unexpected Contract Extension

The news of NAF extending his contract with Team Liquid comes just days after rumours suggested Team Liquid is looking to rebuild its CS:GO division around Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski. However, while the process might remain in place, it wasn't expected for NAF to be included in the plan.

Still, Liquid put an end to the rumours of building only around EliGE on Wednesday, when the organization extended the Canadian CS:GO pro's contract. The decision follows NAF's strong showing at the BLAST Premier Fall Final, where he helped Liquid finish top-six with an average performance rating of 1.15.

Three More Years

NAF joined Team Liquid in February 2018 from Renegades and has since been an integral part of the team's success over the years. As one of the longest-standing members of Liquid, NAF led the team to numerous high-profile tournament trophies, including the historic title of Intel Grand Slam Season 2 champions.

And while NAF has yet to win a Major championship title, he has reached the semi-finals at the FACEIT Major: London 2018, only seven months into his stay with Liquid and placed top-eight at the StarLadder Berlin Major in September 2019.

Having extended his contract until 2014, NAF is confirmed to remain with Liquid, playing alongside EliGE. Meanwhile, the future of his current teammates remains uncertain.

Liquid Looking To Rebuild

As already confirmed by EliGE and Jake "Stewie2K" Yip prior to the BLAST Premier Fall Finals, Liquid will make roster changes at the end of the year; however, it remains to be seen which.

As reported, Stewie2K and Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo are exploring their options, while Michael "Grim" Wince's future remains uncertain. Still, if we go by the most recent rumours, Liquid might have already found the right pieces for a new roster.

As reported, Liquid are in advanced talks with their former captain, Nicholas "nitr0" Cannella, who hasn't found happiness playing Valorant and is looking to make a comeback to the CS:GO scene. Meanwhile, Liquid is supposedly targeting Team Vitality's Richard "shox" Papillon and FURIA Esports' Vinicius "VINI" Figueiredo as the team's newest members.

More information about Liquid's future roster should become available in the coming weeks. Until then, EliGE and NAF remain as the only two confirmed members of Liquid's 2022 squad.
