CD Projekt Red is Working on New Cyberpunk 2077 Expansion

The majority of support for the expansion and other projects began in October.
by Natalie Collazo on December 01, 2021

In an earnings report provided by CD Projekt Red, the company announced several things revolving around their major games, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Cyberpunk 2077, and Gwent. The former two titles were originally slated for release on the PS5 and Xbox One Series X/S during the second half of this year but they were postponed until their respective releases in Q1 and Q2 of 2022. The company revealed that they began focusing on a major expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 as of October as they continued to majorly support the base game through the end of September.

CD Projekt Red also announced that they were focusing development efforts with Spokko, a studio under their umbrella, to develop a Witcher augmented reality game titled The Witcher: Monster Slayer for release in 2022. This announcement also ties into their acquisition of Molasses Flood last month where they announced that they are currently working on a brand new project based on one of CD Projekt Red's IPs.

A detailed roadmap of 2022 releases is set to be revealed on December 5 during the Gwent Masters Season 3 Finale but beyond that, there is no word on what the new Cyberpunk 2077 expansion will entail but it looks as though we won't have to wait too long to find out.
