Retro sci-fi co-op shooter, The Anacrusis, will be released in early access and on Xbox Game Pass this January.
As announced on Twitter, The Anacrusis will begin life in early access on January 13. As well as arriving on the likes of Steam and the Epic Games Store, the futuristic shooter will also be available to Xbox Game Pass, meaning that if you've signed up to the service you'll be able to play the game at no additional cost.
The Anacrusis was first revealed earlier this year at the Summer Games Fest. During the game's announcement trailer, fans noted that footage from the game seemed to bear resemblance to what you might expect from a sci-fi-themed Left 4 Dead. While the title isn't being developed by Valve, the studio behind The Anacrusis (Stray Bombay) is being led by Chet Faliszek - a former Valve writer who worked on the Left 4 Dead series.
As part of a press release, Faliszek spoke about his excitement surrounding the game's upcoming release and what players can expect come January. “We’ve built a core game that we’re really thrilled to share with the community,” he said.
When The Anacrusis officially enters early access, the development team plans to use the period as a "season zero" for the game, which will introduce the first act of the story, the first batch of alien enemies, and a range of guns, gear, and perks that players will need to utilize to survive.
"This is a really weird early access," Faliszek said in a recent devlog. "Because we have things like weekly challenges, we have things like there's a meta progression because we want to test those out as well so you can give us feedback on those. So if you're like 'man it really sucks that I have to do these three things to get this,' then let us know."

Your Credit Card
You authorize Pro Gamer Media LLC and DailyGamer.com, its affiliates and its subsidiaries (collectively “us,” or “we”) third party credit card processor to charge your credit card for the subscription fee option you selected, to store your credit card number and to automatically charge your card upon renewal. We will not store your credit card and will transmit it to its credit card processor in encrypted form.
Subscription Renewal
For your convenience, your subscription will automatically renew at the end of your initial subscription period and each renewal period thereafter, and the subscription fee will be automatically charged to your credit card until cancelled by member.
Subscription Upgrade/Downgrade
You can Upgrade or Downgrade your subscription at any time. While logged in simply click Account or Edit Profile > Subscription > Change Plan.

Termination Of Subscription
Without limiting any other rights that it may have Pro Gamer Media LLC may remove, restrict, cancel or suspend access to and use of DailyGamer.com and it’s content, rewards or any other part of it, if it considers (in its sole discretion) that you have breached any of the Terms of Agreement and or Membership Agreement. You irrevocably and unconditionally (i) consent to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal in the County of Whatcom, Washington (the “Washington Courts”) for any litigation or dispute arising out of or relating to this Agreement, (ii) agree not to commence any litigation arising out of or relating to this Agreement except in the Washington Courts, (iii) agree not to plead or claim that such litigation brought therein has been brought in an inconvenient forum, and (iv) agree the Washington courts represent the exclusive jurisdiction for all disputes relating to this Agreement.
