Resident Evil 4 Creator Hopes Remake Improves On The Story

Resident Evil 4's creator realizes how poorly his story has aged
by Adam Braunstein on February 05, 2022

This just about confirms that Resident Evil 4 is getting a remake that not only is in development, but likely hitting in the year of 2022. The creator says now that he wishes to see the remake improve upon the story of the iconic game, which he recently revealed was written in just 3 weeks. That's not a lot of time obviously and it's pretty apparent as the original game was never mistaken for being a brilliantly made story.

It was incredibly cheesy and the writing was just plain goofy at times with things happening out of nowhere for no reason at all, but the gameplay was revolutionary and the persistent nature of the levels gave us something that horror games had never seen up to that point in time.

Shinji Mikami is no longer a part of Capcom after leaving in 2007, but fondly remembers the success of Resident Evil 4. The speed of which he was forced to write came from terrible planning on Capcom's part, but regardless, Resident Evil 4 has gone on to gain its status as one of the best games ever made, and the recent Resident Evil 4 VR and Resident Evil 4 HD games let us relive that crazy story again in the modern era of gaming.

There have already been noticeable changes with the story of Resident Evil 3, so it wouldn't be shocking to see Mikami's wish come true here and get some much-needed changes to Resident Evil 4 as well.
