No Man's Sky is Coming to Nintendo Switch

Hello Games crowning achievement hitting Nintendo Switch this summer.
by Adam Braunstein on February 10, 2022

No Man's Sky is one of the biggest comeback stories in video game history. It all started in 2016 with a launch that was filled with bugs glitches and most damagingly, broken promises. The game felt empty and although the idea of a completely random universe presenting itself to you every time you signed on was appealing, the mechanics of the game made it as unappealing as possible. In addition to that, multiplayer didn't even work, the story mode was incredibly barebones and the combat and enemies you could face just felt so weak when this was supposed to be a mysterious universe to explore.

It all changed with the update No Man's Sky: Next. Everything that irked players in the opening years was completely revamped. Suddenly, other alien races filled the world, the combat was more competent and a story was implemented that felt appropriate for the weight of the journey that was ahead of you. The biggest addition was multiplayer, which allowed you and a friend or a stranger to explore the world together. More than this, a massive, interconnected world called the anomaly was added to the game and here, you could find tons of other players roaming around like an MMO lobby, and from there, you could quest with them, journey to their bases and so much more.

It all got more amazing as time went on, with the current biggest achievement being the full implementation into VR. With No Man’s Sky completing the comeback attempt, it is spreading its wings once again as Hello Games has announced that No Man’s Sky is coming to Nintendo Switch this summer.

There is no definite release date right now, but the fact that No Man’s Sky is going to be on the switch this year is a shocking achievement. The Nintendo Switch is currently some very dated technology, and to put a game the size and scope of No Man’s Sky onto it is going to be an incredible achievement if it ends up working.
