Nintendo Reveals It's Next Wave Of Amiibos

Coming from a diehard amiibo fan...Finally!!!
by Natalie Collazo on February 22, 2022

The release of amiibos has definitely been much slower as the end of the Super Smash Bros Ultimate lineup slowly comes to a close. On Twitter, Nintendo announced Min Min, Alex, and Steve with only a release date for the first of April 29. The thread states that the Steve and Alex amiibos are delayed because of logistics and production delays but that we should expect to see them by the end of the year.

No other amiibos were announced although there are still characters to be revealed from the last of the Fighters Pass. I'm sure that Covid had a lot to do with the slowdown but I also believe that plenty of time has passed since then to pick back up on amiibo production.

Most recently, Monster Hunter Rise was released with their own set of amiibos and the latest in the Kirby series, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, was announced to support amiibos on release. Besides that, I would not be all too surprised if it was announced that amiibos would be discontinued or indefinitely slowed down.
