Call Of Duty League Receives A Ruleset Update

Nine weapons, seven items, and three perks restricted
by Tit Krajnik on March 08, 2022

The Call of Duty League (CDL) has introduced a ruleset update v1.3 on Tuesday, March 7. The recent update will restrict several perks, weapons, and items in a bid to shake up the competitive scene.

Several Guns Get Added To The Restricted List

As revealed in an official post on the Call of Duty website, the v1.3 ruleset update will introduce restrictions for all marksman rifles, including G-43, M1 Garand, and SVT-40. However, that likely won affect the pro play too much, considering neither have been used by pro players this season.

The same can be said for the assault rifle category, with BAR, Cooper Carbine, and KGM40 all added to the list. Although all strong weapons, neither have been used in the CDL due to the Gentleman's Agreement, the teams made at the start of the season.

In the submachine guns category, PPSH-41 and Welgun have been restricted, as was the Gorenko Anti Tank Rifle, which has been causing issues in the CoD: Vanguard ranked play.

Other weapons that have been previously added to the restricted list include all shotguns (Einhorn Revolving, Combat Shotgun, Gracey Auto, and Double Barrel), all Light Machine Guns (MG42, DP27, Type 11, and Bren), as well as combat shields.

Perks And Items Get Removed

Besides restricting weapons, three parks have also been banned with the latest update. Those include Intuition, Mechanic, and Armory.

Intuition indicated on-screen when an enemy was near (even though walls), Mechanic was used to charge your Field Upgrade 20% faster, while the Armory perk allowed players to use their equipment faster.

In the item category, Gammon Bombs have been removed from competitive play entirely after they were already banned in ranked play when it first launched. Likewise, Smoke Grenade has also been removed, as was the newly-added Sticky Granate, which proved to be too strong for competitive play.

Lightweight trigger and Hair trigger are two weapon attachments that won't be allowed either, although the pro players have already unofficially banned them at the start of the season. Likewise, Shiraishi attachments and Ball Turret Gunner, which was added at the start of Season 2, are now restricted as well.
