Clayster Ready For New Opportunities After Getting Benched From New York Subliners

The three-time CoD world champion isn't ready to retire
by Tit Krajnik on March 20, 2022

James "Clayster" Eubanks, who got benched from the New York Subliners on Friday, March 18, announced he isn't ready to retire. As stated by the 29-year-old, he feels ready to continue competing in the Call of Duty League (CLD) and is open to offers from other teams.

The 29-year old Call of Duty pro released a video on his social media, talking about his benching from the New York Subliners and his desire to keep competing professionally. In the video, Clayster touched on the rumours claiming he could retire, declaring that he isn't ready for that step yet.

Speculations about Clayster's future with the Subliners started popping up shortly after it was reported that the New York squad were expected to sign Paul "PaulEhx" Avila as the newest member of the CDL squad. But after New York Subliners signed PaulEhx and benched Clayster, the three-time CoD world champion revealed his plans for the future, confirming that he is ready to keep competing

"I really do want to compete; I'm going to fight and scrap for every inc of this pro career that I have – I always have and I always will," said Clayster.

"I'm not ready to be done yet – I am currently looking for other opportunities in other teams. I obviously don't think I'll get on one right now, in the middle of the stage, but I'm hoping after the Major an opportunity arises and a team wants to take a chance [with me]."

Clayster further explained the situation in the team, saying that he had been pushing for the Subliners to make two changes to the roster in a bid to find more stability. He also added that he is aware that his performances in the Call of Duty: Vanguard haven't been too good so far but that he is still passionate about the game and competing in the newest CoD title.

While Clayster is looking for a way to return back to pro play – either as a player or in another role – the New York Subliners already debuted its new CoD roster with PaulEhx on Saturday, March 19 when they won against Paris Legion (3-1). It marked the Subliners' second victory of the 2022 season, after managing only one win in the first CDL Major qualifiers against Boston Breach (3-2).
