Big Nintendo Games Could Be Coming To The Switch In 2021

According to Twitter user PH Brazil, three massive Nintendo franchises could be making their way to the Switch this year.

Nintendo has always tended to keep its cards close to its chest. While this has sometimes meant a lack of lead-in time for marketing, it’s also meant that surprise announcements are an actual surprise. However, there has consistently been a drip feed of leaks over the past few years. A new one of these suggests that some massive games could be coming to the Switch later this year.

The leak, should it prove to be accurate, comes courtesy of Twitter user PH Brazil. While the account has been known to leak accurate Nintendo information in the past, some of the potential releases should come with a grain of salt. Perhaps the most notable of these is Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2.

Not much is known about the upcoming game, though it has had trailers released. According to PH Brazil, however, it will be released in the coming months. This would make sense considering that 2021 is the franchise’s 35th anniversary. As such, the account could simply be guessing that the game will be released this year and there would be a decent chance that it’s accurate.

Where this changes, though, is where the other potential releases are concerned. Among the franchises are Metroid, Splatoon, and Fire Emblem, although specific game titles weren’t mentioned. When it comes to Splatoon, it’s speculated that it couldn’t be a third entry in the franchise; specifically, this would be because of how recent the second game is.

As such, it’s speculated that the Splatoon announcement, should it occur, would be focused on DLC. With Metroid, it’s rumored that it would either be Metroid Prime 4 or a 2D game, the latter of which has long been speculated. Fire Emblem: Three Houses was released in 2019, although the franchise typically gets an installment every two or three years.

Regardless, fans of any of the franchises will have to wait to see if the leaks are genuine.
