Next-Gen Version of The Witcher 3 Will Release in Q4 2022

That's much sooner than originally expected!
by Natalie Collazo on May 20, 2022

The Witcher 3 Next-Gen Update Has Been Given a New Holiday 2022 Release Window

It's finally happening! One of the biggest games to ever release, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, is set to receive a next-gen upgrade at the end of this year. The Witcher 3 is the third installment in CD Projekt Red's take on the Polish story. Every installment follows Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter who relies on specialized training and magic honing to earn money. He belongs to a school of particular swordplay and skillsets called the Witcher school of the wolf. The third game, in particular, follows Geralt as he searches for his adopted daughter who the eponymous Wild Hunt is chasing.

The news was announced during a tweet by the official Witcher Twitter page to celebrate the game's seventh year anniversary. The initial game was already a sight for sore eyes and was able to curate some of the most brutal and touching scenes known in the video game industry. The update is to be developed by in-house Saber Interactive.

Nothing more about the update was announced but we do know that DLC inspired by the Netflix show will appear as stated in a tweet published last summer. Hopefully, we will learn more during this summer to commemorate that particular announcement but we will just have to see as the date approaches. This news comes shortly after the developer launched their next-gen update for Cyberpunk 2077 this past February.
