ORDER Acquire Renegades CS:GO Roster

Oceania's most dominant CS:GO team finds a new home
by Tit Krajnik on June 04, 2022

Australian esports organization ORDER announced on Saturday, June 4, the signing of the entire Renegades Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster. The blockbuster move sees Oceania's most dominant CS:GO team transfer to a rival organization ahead of the second half of the 2022 season.

ORDER announced the news after the organization dropped its entire roster and suspended its CS:GO division on May 4. At the time, ORDER did not comment about any plans of returning to the CS:GO competitive scene; however, it seems like the possibility of singing Renegades lineup changed the organization's mind.

ORDER's previous roster, which featured Matthew "Valiance" Hartrick, Jireh "J1rah" Youakim, Declan "Vexite" Portelli, Tyler "tucks" Reilly, and Karlo "USTILO" Pivac, struggled to find much success. Most notably, the team failed to make it through the PGL Major Antwerp open qualifiers and was just as unsuccessful in qualifying for IEM Dallas.

Throughout the roster's joint venture, ORDER's most notable achievement was winning The Insanely Awesome CS:GO Tournament, while the team peaked at no.54 in the global CS:GO ladder.

In contrast, ORDER's new squad, all of whom have played for ORDER in the past, have reached far greater heights. Renegades were widely known as Oceania's most dominant team for the past years and have featured at every Major since 2020.

Moreover, Renegades peaked at no.20 on the global ladder twice, most recently in August 2021. This year alone, Renegades placed second at PGL Major Antwerp 2022: Asia-Pacific RMR and won the ESL ANZ Champs Season 14, albeit they did not make it far at the Major, where Renegades crashed out of the Challengers Stage with a 0-3 record.

"CSGO has always been in our DNA. We love the game and we continue to support it in every way. The acquisition of the top-performing Australian roster will see ORDER fight it out on an international level consistently," said ORDER Chief Gaming Officer Chris Orfanellis.

Besides signing the Renegades' roster, ORDER also acquired Renegades' coach and manager, completely rebuilding its CS:GO division. With the recent deal, ORDER's new CS lineup will consist of: Jordan "Hatz" Bajic, Jay "Liazz" Tregillgas, Alistair "aliStair" Johnston. Simon "Sico" Williams, Joshua "INS" Potter, and coach David "Kingfisher" Kingsford.

ORDER will debut its new-look roster at ESL Pro League Conference Season 16, scheduled for June 15-20. The tournament will take place in Jönköping, Sweden, and it will feature 16 teams vying for the lion's share of the $15,000 prize pool.
