MDI & AWC Award Exclusive In-Game Title

Only the most fearless spectators will be eligible
by Tit Krajnik on July 01, 2022

The long-awaited World of Warcraft Mythic Dungeon International's (MDI) and Arena World Championship (AWC) Shadowlands will kick off on June 8, featuring the world's top WoW esports teams from around the globe competing for the lion's share of the $300,000 prize pool. And while the teams battle through the dungeons and fight in the arena, the viewers at home will also have something to look forward to.

According to the release on World of Warcraft's official site, the upcoming WoW esports event will also have special prizes for the viewers. Throughout the event, the fans will be able to earn the "Fearless Spectator" title as an in-game achievement.

How To Earn the Fearless Spectator Title

To claim the in-game title "Fearless Spectator," you don't have to do much more than watch MDI Global Final, AWC Grand Finals, or the AWC Cross-Region tournament; however, there are a few conditions that you need to meet.

  1. You have to watch one of the official streams on YouTube Gaming channels.
  2. You have to watch either of the competitions for at least two hours.
  3. Connect your Battle.Net and YouTube accounts.

You have to spend at least two hours watching the esports competitions, but doing it all in one sitting is not required. So even if you can't watch for the entire two hours at once, your time will still count towards earning the title.

How To Connect Your Accounts

Before you can claim your rewards, you have to link your Blizzard Battle.Net and YouTube accounts, which shouldn't take you more than a minute if you follow five steps.

  1. Log in or create an account on YouTube.
  2. Click on "Account Sharing" under the "Connected Apps" in Youtube settings.
  3. Click on "Connect" next to Battle.Net.
  4. Follow the prompts to finish connecting accounts.
  5. Make sure you're connected to the Blizzard account on which you wish to receive the exclusive drops.

Dates Of The Events

  • MDI Global Finals: July 8-10
  • AWC Grand Finals: July 16-17
  • AWC Cross-Region Tournament: July 23-24

The MDI Global Final will feature the top eight MDI teams from all over the globe competing for the largest slice of the $300,000 prize pool and the MDI Shadowlands Global Champions title. Following the conclusion of the MDI, the event will continue with two weeks of arena action.

The PvP spectacle will kick off with the AWC Grand Finals on July 16, which will see the top four teams from Europe and Americans battle to claim the championship belt and a share of the $300,000 prize pool. The AWC Grand Finals will be followed by a brand-new cross-region tournament in which the top four teams from both regions will compete to see which region deserves the bragging rights.

Blizzard has yet to provide further details on each final and the new cross-region tournament. But we can expect more details to be released in the coming days leading to the opening event of the tournament.
