Rocket League Celebrates Its Seventh Anniversary

It's time for a Birthday Ball event
by Tit Krajnik on July 02, 2022

To celebrate its seventh anniversary, Rocket League is holding a special in-game event, the Birthday Ball event. It will provide the players with two weeks of limited-time game modes and unique challenges with exclusive rewards, including XP bonuses and cosmetic items.

The game's official seven-year anniversary isn't until Thursday, July 7, but the game developer, Psyonix, will kick off the festivities a day earlier, on July 6, giving the fans of the game a chance to enjoy the event and grab the exclusive prizes.

The Birthday Ball event will include a couple of new and exciting ball modes, starting with the 2v2 Heatseeker during Week 1 of the festivities. The Heatseeker LMT mode will be available between July 6-13 and give the ball "special homing abilities," meaning it will always gravitate toward your opponent's goal.

The second week of the event will re-introduce Knockout LMT. The game mode will allow players to use Block, Attack, and Grab mechanics on selected maps in Quadron, Carbon, and Calavera Arenas.

Besides the two new game modes, the Birthday Ball will also feature Birthday Ball challenges, awarding players 300 credits if they complete them all. Besides the in-game credits, the players will also be able to collect Golden Goat Player Banner and Precious Metal Avbatar Border once they complete all the tasks, while other challenges will award players with timeless rewards such as 20,000XP and Import Item Drop.

And it doesn't stop there.

During the Birthday Ball event, the in-game shop will sell Titanium White Fennec and Fancy Formal Fennec Decal as two special anniversary items. The shop will also introduce two new golden items in Spyder: Anniversary Edition Wheels and Top Hat: Anniversary Edition Topper.

And what is a birthday without presents? Rocket League players will also be able to earn Golden Eggs to unlock items from Champions series 1-4! The Golden Eggs will work like all previous golden rewards, with players completing the challenge up to five times and opening the items in their inventory.

The Rocket League Birthday Ball event will run from July 6 to July 19.
