G2 Esports Allow JACKZ To Explore Options

Another one bites the dust
by Tit Krajnik on July 19, 2022

According to recent reports, Audric "JACKZ" Jug may be on the outs from the G2 Esports Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster, as the team looks to make changes during the offseason. If the reports are correct, JACKZ will join Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen as one of the players who won't stick around.

It's no secret that G2 Esports is looking to freshen up its CS:GO lineup, and according to recent reports, the international roster will look much different heading into the second half of the year. As revealed on Tuesday, July 19, G2 Esports has allowed its long-standing member JACKZ to explore options outside of the team, indicating that G2 will make at least two changes during the offseason.

The news came just a couple of days after G2 Esports allowed its current in-game leader to pursue other opportunities.

JACKZ, who is the latest addition to the list of players leaving G2, has been a part of the organization since November 2018, when he joined the team from 3DMAX. Over the next four years, he has spent four months on the bench (December 2020 – March 2021) and left G2 for DBL PONEY in February 2021 before returning to the main lineup in March.

Although the team has put together many notable performances with JACKZ on the roster, they have been unable to win a big event in 2022. Most notably, G2 Esports reached the finals of Stockholm Major and Intel Extreme Masters XVI – Katowice but have not managed to overcome the final hump once.

JACKZ has yet to be officially benched from G2 Esports – like Aleksib – but his possible departure from the team would suggest a major shift in G2's plans for its CS:GO roster going forwards.

If the two players end up leaving the team, G2 Esports would be left with only three players in Nemanja "huNter-" Kova?, Nikola "NiKo" Kova?, and Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov. There are currently no reports about who G2 Esports will look to add to the lineup, but more information about the roster's future should become available in the coming weeks.
