Nintendo Joy-Con Support Now Available on Steam

Hopefully, stick drift won't be an issue...

Nintendo FAQ Confirms That Switch OLED Joy-Cons Are The Same As Existing Controllers | Nintendo Life

While it may not be too important of a factor for some players, others might be thrilled to hear that Nintendo Switch's Joy-Con's are now viable controllers for Steam use. The latest client beta was revealed earlier this week to show that the controllers will now be available both individually as a mini-gamepad and combined into pairs. As mentioned before, the controller usage is only available in the Steam Client Beta which isn't a part of the regular Steam client. The Steam Client Beta lets you see the latest features on the platform before they're released and it's a program that can only be joined if you opt in.

Nintendo's Joy-Con controllers can be used both as a pair or individually to create a sense of variety and gameplay differentials for players. A single controller has almost all the same capabilities as a pair of them which makes it so that every pair is actually two controllers. Hopefully, we will see some innovation in the future with respect to how the controllers will be used in games.
