MultiVersus Passes 10 Million Players Before Official Launch

The open beta is proving to be wildly successful
by Carter Barnes on August 10, 2022

Warner Bros’ new platform fighter MultiVersus has now surpassed 10 million total players, after only entering open beta a few weeks ago. The upcoming free-to-play title’s early access began back in mid-July and has quickly become one of the most popular games this year.

The stats tracking site tracker.gg, which allows users to view and compare their stats in various games, shows the total number of MultiVersus players is continuously rising, with over 10.5 million as of now.

The game’s roster spans the whole Warner Bros repertoire, leading to matchups of iconic characters from vastly different genres. Ranging from Superman to Shaggy to even Lebron James, players are given many different properties to choose from to battle it out.

With the recent announcement of the first official season, which will include a new battle pass and characters such as Rick and Morty, the game doesn’t seem to be losing momentum. This past weekend MultiVersus saw its tournament debut at EVO 2022, with famous Super Smash Bros Pros NAKAT and VoiD winning the $10,000 grand prize.
