MultiVersus is Crowned July's Best Selling Game

The free-to-play smash clone is making waves

The NPD report for last month's best-selling games reveals that MultiVersus, Warner Bros’ new free-to-play smash like, was the victor beating the likes of Elden Ring, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and Call of Duty: Vanguard to become July’s best selling game. 

The MultiVersus beta launched on the 26th of July, bringing in floods of players and subsequent cash thanks in large part to the Founder’s Pack which includes 15 Character Tickets, 1 Banner (Rare) and 300 Gleamium. Amounting to a lofty $39.99, the Founder’s pack has skyrocketed MultiVersus to the top of the pile:

MultiVersus’ financial success has been made possible by the giant player base it has amassed since launching. Not only has it already gathered over 10 million players but it also had 140,000 concurrent players at its peak. 

Although there is still no official release date yet for MultiVersus, the open beta is available for free on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One consoles, and PC (Steam) and features full cross-play between systems.
