Teamfight Tactics 7.5 Reworks Astral Trait

Astral trait receives better bonus orbs
by Tit Krajnik on August 22, 2022

Riot Games will remove everyone’s favorite reroll component from Teamfight Tactics Astral trait in Set 7.5 in place of strengthening orbs. Besides changing Astral trait, Riot has other planned changes, namely replacing Revel, Legend, and Trainer.

During the seventh TFT set, Astral was primarily used as a reroll composition, but that’s about to change in Dragonlands Uncharted Realms. As revealed by Riot Games, the TFT Set 7.5, which is set to release on September 8, will see Astral undergo a rework, stripping away the Astral shop and focusing more on the bonus orbs.

In Dragonlands Uncharted Realms Set, Astral won’t offer every fifth shop as an Astral shop, but instead, provide players with an Astral orb after each combat round. The contents of the orb will then increase in quality alongside the increase of the combined start level of your Astral champions. Notably, in the Dragonlands Uncharted Realms set, the same six champions will count as Astral, including Vladimir, Varus, Skarner, Nidalee, Lux, and Aurelion Sol.

The Astral trait in the next set will be divided into three breakpoints at three, five, and eight, providing players 10, 40, and 75 bonus ability power.

Although TFT Set 7.5 will remove some of the components of the Astral trait that made it a reroll composition, it can still be used for the same purpose. Still, it won’t be as powerful as it was.

In addition to changing how the Astral trait works, Riot Games also plans to introduce other changes to Set 7.5, namely the removal of Revel, Legend, and Trainer traits. Moreover, the Dragon trait has undergone a massive rework as well.

Besides introducing changes to already existing traits, TFT will welcome a few new traits in Darkflight and Lagoon. Darkflight will be similar to the former Legen trait, except only one unit can be sacrificed. Moreover, it will provide all Darkflight units with a random copy of an item on the sacrificed unit.

Lagoon will enter TFT Set 7.5 as a new vertical trait and economy, providing attack speed and ability power to all Lagoon units. Upon activating the Lagoon trait, players will receive a Seastone, which will grant bonus loot based on the Lagoon champion casts.

Although all the changes coming to Dragonlands Uncharted Realms are exciting, we will have to wait a bit longer before they hit the live servers. Still, players can start testing out Set 7.5 during PBE testing, which is set to start on Wednesday, August 31.
