Rocket League Fall Heads To Amsterdam

Rocket League Fall Major will be held in Amsterdam
by Tit Krajnik on September 24, 2022

The Rocket League Championship Series heads into the 2022/23 season with a new logo and a new venue for the RLCS 2022/232 Fall Major. As revealed by the game developers, the season's opening Major is headed to Amsterdam, Netherland, on December 8-11.

The new RLCS season has previously been announced on September 18, unveiling the same structure for the three splits, each culminating with a Major. And with the sign-up dates closing in for the RLCS Fall Split, Pysonix revealed that the first Major of the 2022/23 season would be held in the Netherlands.

The last time RLCS stepped foot in Amsterdam was in the finals of RLCS Season 2, in December 2016. This time, seven years later, the Rocket League esports scene will return to the Netherlands' capital bigger than ever, offering a $310,000 prize pool – a significant jump from the RLCS Season 2 Finals, which offered just $125,000.

Although we're still quite a bit away from the RLCS Fall Major, Psyonix already revealed that it will be held at Rotterdam Ahoy on December 8-11. Moreover, it was announced that the Fall Major would welcome a live audience; however, the tickets have yet to be put up for sale.

Besides unveiling the first stop of the 2022/23 RLCS season, Psyonix also announced a new logo for its esports title. While the logo in the game will remain the same, the Rocket League esports scene now features a more modern and minimalistic twist on the old logo, sporting the shape of a Rocket League arena.

The RLCS Fall Major will maintain a similar structure to last season, with Fall Open, Fall Cup, and Fall Invitational events held across the seven regions ahead of the Major. The Fall Open will kick off the new season, and we will have fully Open Qualifiers to fill the 16 region slots.

The season will then advance to Fall Cup, featuring eight auto-qualified teams and eight teams from open qualifiers. Lastly, the Fall Invitational will be an invitation-only event, welcoming the top 16 teams from the region that gold the most RLCS ranking points.

The top-ranked teams from each region will then proceed to the Fall Major, for a total of 16 participating teams from NA (5 slots), EU (5 slots), OCE (2 slots), SAM (2 slots), APAC (1 slot), and MENA (1 slot), who will duke it out for the lion's share of the $310,000 prize pool.
