Fortnite Announces Next Big Event - Fortnite Fracture

Fracture will be the closing event for Chapter 3
by Joe Wilcock on November 14, 2022

Next month will mark the end of Fortnite's third chapter and fourth season with the launch of Fortnite Fracture. Commencing on December 3rd at 1 p.m. PT/4 p.m. ET/9 p.m. GMT, the event will continue the thematic changes already seen through Fortnite's tenure. Although details are scarce, aside from the name and date of the next phase, there is some information out there that could inform what we can expect.

After a grand total of 22 different seasons spanning 3 chapters, Fortnite has evolved and changed considerably, not only from full map changes but mechanical tweaks and gameplay innovations. Chapter 2, for example, brought with it swimming and fishing whilst the last chapter introduced Chrome and walking through walls and it looks as though Chapter 4 will continue the Chrome saga.

There are also reports suggesting that we could receive a new map too, something Fortnite is no stranger to. Data mining has revealed that the new map is codenamed "Asteria", and if the last chapter is anything to go by then we could see the total takeover by the Chrome giving more opportunity to phase through walls and floors.

Fortnite's social media feeds are likely to unveil new information about Chapter 4 over the next few weeks in preparation for December 3rd. For now though, they are keeping their cards close to their chest.

Fortnite is available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile.
