Nigma Galaxy Appoint ImmortalFaith As New Head Coach

Nigma Galaxy unveil the first team change ahead of the 2023 DPC season
by Tit Krajnik on December 01, 2022

Nigma Galaxy announced Daniel "ImmortalFaith" Moza as the new head coach of the Dota 2 division on Thursday, December 1. The Romanian strategist joins Nigma Galaxy as a former coach for Vikin.gg, Team Tickles, and Gaimin Gladiators, who he led to The International 2022.

Nigma Galaxy announced the first Dota 2 team change of the offseason on Thursday when the European esports organization appointed ImmortalFaith as their new head coach. ImmortalFaith will fill in the shoes of Roman "rmN-" Paley, who was let go from the team on Wednesday, November 30.

RmN- was a major part of the roster since 2018, when he and Nigma Galaxy's roster were still playing under Team Liquid, and has led the squad to a plethora of achievements. Notably, rmN-'s records as a coach include a gold medal from MDL Macau 2019, WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020, and WePlay! Dota 2 Tug of War: Mad Moon, as well as The International 2019 grand finals appearance and a third-place finish at GAMERS GALAXY: Invitational Series Dubai 2022.

However, despite all the success rmN- has achieved as a Dota 2 coach since 2018, he has failed to achieve much with Nigma Galaxy in 2022. The team's only notable achievement came in March, when the team finished GAMERS GALAXY in third place, but have since struggled to make much of a splash.

The team ended the season with a disappointing fifth-sixth-place finish in the TI2022 Western Europe Qualifier, thus missing out on The International. So even though Nigma Galaxy have had moments of greatness, the lack of titles understandably ushered in changes to the team.

Besides replacing its head coach, Nigma Galaxy are expected to also make roster changes in the coming weeks. As it stands now, the organization has yet to officially announce its 2023 roster, with rumors suggesting that some players might retire.

But even though we have no information on Nigma Galaxy's future plans, we won't have to wait for long to get an official announcement. The roster lock is on December 9, 2022, meaning that Nigma Galaxy have just over one week to put together a roster for the next season.
