Blizzard Unwraps Easy Method to Unlock Ramattra Before Overwatch 2 Season

Finally, something good to come from this nightmare

Blizzard announced that ahead of the December 6 launch of Season 2 for the free-to-play Overwatch 2, the new tank hero, Ramattra, will be easier to obtain than previously announced. As part of the content roadmap, tomorrow is the launch of several new features including the new hero, a new map, 30+ new skins, a new battle pass, and a new mythic skin. The way players can go about obtaining Ramattra is one of two ways: grind to level to level 45 of the battle pass for free or purchase the battle pass to obtain him immediately.

When the support character Kiriko was released, players who did not purchase the battle pass were frustrated at how long it took to obtain her for free. They needed to level up to level 55 of the battle pass which is an incredible slog considering that many of the required challenges didn't award a whole lot of XP. Overwatch 2 game director Aaron Keller tweeted the news earlier today via his Twitter account.

The developers of the game have been undergoing a strong effort towards making Overwatch 2 more rewarding for players. The first-person shooter has been the center of multiple controversies regarding many skins and characters essentially being put behind some sort of paywall. This is a completely different turnout from the previous installment which gave players every new character and update for free without any restrictions.

Even though the grind will be far less than anticipated before, it's still going to be a long journey ahead if you're interested in getting Ramattra. Ramattra is a tank character with the ability to change into two different forms: Omnic Form and Nemesis Form. The former allows him to use the weapon Void Accelerator which is a massive staff that unleashes different sets of fires. The latter changes his appearance and weapon where he bulks up with extra armor and an extra set of arms. You can check out everything being included in Season 2 below:
