Nigma Galaxy Sign ATF For The 2023 DPC Season

Nigma complete its 2023 Dota 2 roster
by Tit Krajnik on December 07, 2022

Nigma Galaxy finalized its roster for the 2023 Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) season on Tuesday, December, with the signing of Ammar "ATF" Al-Assaf. The 17-year-old Jordanian player joins Nigma as a replacement for Amer "Miracle-" Al-Barkawi, who took a break from competitive Dota 2 on Monday.

With only two days left before the Dota 2 roster lock, Nigma Galaxy finalized its 2023 roster with ATF, who joined the team from OG as a replacement for Miracle-. The 17-year-old carry player, who began his esports career in January 2021, was last seen competing with OG but stepped down from the roster at the start of November.

His sudden departure from OG has left ATF's future in the air, and with the roster lock fast approaching, it seemed like ATF won't play in the DPC. However, that changed on Tuesday when the rising star got picked up by Nigma Galaxy as their fifth player.

ATF will team up with Kuro "KuroKy" Takhasomi, Maroun "GH" Merhej, Ivan "MinD_ContRoL" Ivanov, and Syed "SumaiL" Hassan, who have been confirmed to stay with the team heading into the 2023 season. The only change Nigma Galaxy have made besides signing ATF was the addition of a new coach Daniel "ImmortalFaith" Moza, who joined Nigma on December 1.

The lack of notable roster changes raises some questions, as Nigma Galaxy struggled to achieve much in the 2022 DPC season. Their most notable result came in July, when Nigma Galaxy won DPC Tour 3: Division II, and four months prior, they placed third in GAMERS GALAXY: Invitational Series Dubai 2022.

Besides that, Nigma Galaxy failed to make much noise in any of the big events, ending the season with an early exit from The International 2022: Western Europe Qualifier, which saw them miss out on The International 2022.

Still, with Nigma Galaxy's roster now featuring promising young talent in ATF, there is a sense of optimism ahead of the 2023 season. But only time will tell how successful this iteration will be.
