Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom OLED Switch Reportedly Leaked

The excitement here is unbearable.
by Natalie Collazo on December 30, 2022

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom finally has a name and release date | VG247

It appears that Nintendo is once again pushing the OLED model of its hugely popular Switch console with the release of a special edition tied to the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Leaked images shared on the Reddit page r/GamingLeaksandRumors show the Switch and dock in white with golden joycons and a Zelda crest on the dock.

As a long-time fan of the Legend of Zelda franchise and a frequent user of the Switch, I am excited about the possibility of a special edition console tied to the highly-anticipated Tears of the Kingdom. The use of white and gold on the hardware, as well as the inclusion of the iconic Zelda crest, adds a level of elegance and sophistication to the console that is sure to appeal to fans of the franchise.

It should be noted that these images have not yet been confirmed as real by Nintendo, and the company has not taken any action to remove them. However, given the success of previous special edition OLED Switch consoles, such as the Splatoon 3 and Pokemon Scarlet & Violet versions, it seems highly likely that this leaked Zelda edition is indeed legitimate.

If the special edition Switch is indeed released, it is likely to be available in the months leading up to the game's launch in May 2023, as the console does not include the game itself. As a fan, I will definitely be keeping an eye out for further information on this potential release and considering adding it to my collection.
