Virtus.pro Finalize Dota 2 Roster With Fng and Kiritych

Virtus.pro replace the recently departed players with former legend and a young talent
by Tit Krajnik on March 08, 2023

Virtus.pro announced the signing of Artsiom "Fng" Barshak and Ilya "Kiritych" Ulyanov, who joined the Russian Dota 2 squad on Wednesday, March 8. The news came just a day after Virtus.pro parted ways with Alexandr "krylat" Krylatov and Andrey "Dukalis" Kuropatkin.

Fng and Kiritych fill up the vacant spots left behind by krylat and Dukalis, who were let go from Virtus.pro following a poor start to the season. Fng will step in as position 5 support and new team captain, whereas Kiritych will take over the carry position.

Fng joins Virtus.pro as one of the most recognizable names from the CIS Dota 2 and is well known to Virtus.pro fans, as a former player and coach. Meanwhile, his new teammate, Kiritych, is a young up-and-coming talent who started his Dota 2 esports career in February 2020 with SMARACIS Esports and has recently played for Nemiga Gaming.

The return of Fng after seven years brings a breath of fresh air to VP camp as the team looks to bounce back following a rough start to the year. Virtus.pro kicked off the 2023 season with a fourth-place finish in DPC EEU 2023 Tour 1: Division I and have recently added an early exit from BetBoom Universe: Episode I - Comics Zone.

With Fng back at the helm of the team and a new promising young talent joining the lineup, VP will be hopeful they improve for the second Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Tour of the season.

"We did a great job of building a new team in the first DPC tour, and you all have seen the progress in our game compared to the earlier matches. Nevertheless, we weren't happy with the place we finished in," said Head of Dota 2 in Virtus.pro, Alexander "StrangeR" Solomonov.

"We are aiming for a better result in the second tour and, of course, we could have continued to work and develop in the current roster if we did not see the possibility of improving our squad with new players who are great for the team."

Now fielding two veteran players and three youngsters, Virtus.pro have all the tools for a working formula that will help the Russian esports squad rise back up and relive its glory days. And given Fng's history with VP and the plethora of tournaments he has won with the team, we could see an entirely different VP in the second tour of the season.

DPC EEU 2023 Tour 2: Division I is set to kick off on Sunday, March 12, while Virtus.pro will debut its new-look roster two days later, on Tuesday, March 14, against HellRaisers.
