If you're a fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and third-person, story-driven narratives, then you're in for a real treat. The famed 2020 TMNT comic published by Image Comics, The Last Ronin, is set to be adapted as a video game.

Right now, there's no word of who will be developing the game, but the senior vice president for games and emerging media at Paramount Global, Doug Rosen, has confirmed that the ideal studio has been chosen. One of these is the fact that it is being developed to match the tone and gameplay style of games like Santa Monica Studios' God of War.

If you aren't familiar with The Last Ronin story, it takes place in a future where only one of the turtles is left standing. He has managed to learn the respective weapons of each of his comrades and is determined to seek justice for their deaths at the hand of the Foot Clan. It's revealed at the end which one of the turtles is the turtle, but we don't want the spoil that here.

In the five-issue series, the story is told from different perspectives in the form of flashbacks to other characters. It's possible that the game will implement this feature, allowing players to take on the roles of all the turtles, but only time will tell.

We should expect to hear more information about the game in the coming months, but we can say for sure that it will be geared towards an older audience, unlike the more recent games developed for the IP. However, we can still expect a few more years until the game officially comes out.
