Street Fighter 6 Demo & Year 1 DLC Revealed

Capcom gives fans a chance to test out Street Fighter 6 and reveals more details about Year 1 DLC fighters
by Tit Krajnik on April 21, 2023

On Thursday, Capcom revealed a short demo for Street Fighter 6 and unveiled details about Year 1 DLC, which will include four new characters. The game is set to release in the Summer of 2023, with the demo set to become available for PC and Xbox on April 26.

Street Fighter 6 is one of the most-anticipated fighting games set to be released in 2023 in what looks to be an excellent year for fighting games. The title will join a long list of anticipated games which will release in June 2023, including Diablo IV and Crash Team Rumble.

Although Street Fighter 6 already had a beta this year, the fans of the title will have another chance to test out the upcoming release before it goes live.

As revealed by Capcom, Street Fighter 6 demo is already live on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 and is set to release for Xbox Series S/X and PC on Wednesday, April 26.

The demo will let players try out the World Tour mode and a few other game modes in Fighting Ground and give players access to the Avatar Creator to build their own character. As noted, the character creation in the Avatar Creator will carry over to the main title; however, any progress through the World Tour won’t.

Besides announcing the Street Fighter 6 demo, Capcom also unveiled more details about Year 1 DLC. It will feature four characters, including a newcomer to the franchise A.K.I., ED from Street Fighter 4, Rashid from ST5, and ST villain Akuma.

The four new fighters will feature in the World Tour game mode, but they will release separately. Rashid will enter the game in the Summer of 2023, A.K.I. in the Autumn of 2023, ED in the Winter of 2024, and Akuma in the Spring of 2023.

The recent announcement about Street Fighter 6 demo and DLC fighters comes shortly after it was revealed that Street Fighter 6 will feature at EVO 2023, slated for August 4-6, 2023, alongside other popular fighting games. That includes Dragon Ball FighterZ, Mortal Kombat 11, Tekken 7, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, Guilty Gear Strive, Street Fighter, King of Fighters XV, and Melty Blood: Type Lumina.

The fighting game tournament will be hosted at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, with a minimum prize pool of $25,000 for each tournament and serve as the beginning of the competitive Street Fighter 6 scene just one month after the game’s release.
