Diablo IV Server Slam Saves Won't Transfer to Final Game

A little weird, considering that a new beta is happening.
by Natalie Collazo on April 21, 2023

Your Last Chance to Play Diablo IV Free Before Launch - Server Slam Arrives on May 12 - Xbox Wire

In Blizzard's blog post yesterday, they detailed the upcoming Server Slam from May 12 - 14, which gives players an opportunity to go back to Sanctuary and experience Diablo IV one more time before the official release. Unfortunately, it was also revealed that the progress you made in the previous beta will not be transferrable to this one, making it so that you will have to level back up to 20. To make things worse, no save data from the Server Slam will transfer to the final game, either.

While this may not be a problem for some veteran players who might be used to starting over with new characters, this might be considered a flaw for newer players. For them, this means that the hours that were spent grinding up to level 20 in order to take on Ashava will just have to do it two more times if they participate in the Server Slam as well as buy the game.

While this isn't necessarily news, because we had already been notified that the characters wouldn't transfer over, this was before we knew about another beta weekend. If anything, things wouldn't have transferred over from the first beta because that meant that everything from the second beta would. Alas, that's not the case.
