Fortnite Decorates Battle Bus In FNCS Colours

The iconic Battle Bus got a makeover in celebration of the Fortnite Champions Series (FNCS)
by Tit Krajnik on May 08, 2023

The Fortnite Battle Bus has been modified and re-painted to commemorate the Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS), one of the most significant Fortnite esports events of the year. Featuring some of the world’s top professional Fortnite players, the FNCS will have a $10 million in total prize pool spread across the six regions.

Over the last few months, Fortnite fans had the luxury of following the ongoing Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) esports event, which takes place across six regions (Europe, North America, Brazil, Asia, Oceania, and the Middle East), welcoming the world’s top professional Fortnite players. As a global tournament, the Champions Series is a massive esports event that Epic Games decided to promote in an interesting way.

On Sunday, May 7, the competition concluded with the Surge Week, leading into the regional Grand Finals, set to kick off on Friday, May 12, where the top-performing players will compete for a spot in the Global Championship.

To commemorate the FNCS reaching the penultimate phase, Epic Games re-painted the iconic Fortnite Battle Bus, which is now chapter 4 Season 2 FNCS-themed, to celebrate the ongoing esports event.

The Battle Bus is now painted in various colors, while its tarp on top is in deep blue. Although it remains to be seen for how long the bus will remain this way, it has been data mined that it will stay re-pained until May 15, a day after the FNCS Major 2 Grand Finals.

Besides the FNCS, Fortnite will also host other competitive events in the coming weeks, including the FNCS Community Cup, which kicks off on Monday, May 8. The Community Cup is a duo tournament where the players will get to compete to claim various cosmetic items, including Hard-Won Treasure Back Bling, Championship Aura Outfit, FNCS Green Wrap, and Eyes of Victory Pickaxe.

The top-performing players will advance to the next stage of the competition, the Global Championship LAN event, which I set to take place later in 2023.

The tournaments are a part of Epic Games’ attempts to improve Fortnite’s competitive play, which has failed to reach the same status as some other esports titles. However, according to Esports Charts, Fortnite is doing more than fine in terms of popularity.

The Rubious MadCup, which took place in March, had over 257k average viewers and over 327k peak viewers, making it the most-watched Fortnite competition since the Fortnite Champion Series: 2022 Invitational (381k peak viewers).
