Blizzard Announces Diablo IV Crossover With Diablo Immortal

Diablo Immortal x Diablo IV crossover set for June 2
by Tit Krajnik on May 19, 2023

Just weeks before the release of Diablo IV, Blizzard announced a crossover event between Diablo Immortal and Diablo IV, set to go live on June 2. The crossover will offer players new activities to celebrate the long-awaited release of Diablo IV and to commemorate the first anniversary of the F2P mobile game.

In celebration of the upcoming release of Diablo IV, Blizzard announced a new crossover event for Diablo Immortal, with the Children of Lilith Battle Pass, Hatred's Heritage Phantom Market, and the Merciless Monstrosity event all set to launch for the free-to-play mobile game. The event will allow players to obtain new Lilith-themed in-game cosmetic items and learn more about the Sanctuary's matriarch.

In the announcement, Blizzard stated that the Merciless Monstrosity event and the Children of Lilith battle pass would be "experienceable expressions" of the creation of Sanctuary and Lillith herself. Unfortunately, this doesn't reveal much, leaving the upcoming crossover shrouded in mystery.

On top of the crossover, the players can also expect more Diablo Immortal updates, including new zones and a new playable class. We already know that the new zone is called Ancients' Cradle and is inhabited by reclusive tribes, whereas not much has been revealed about the new class, which is supposed to be a mid-range.

The crossover announcement is part of Blizzard's continuous support of its free-to-play game, which initially had a controversial launch, mainly due to all the game's microtransactions. However, despite that, Diablo Immortal has achieved a lot of success and continues to attract new players, thanks to new content updates with new dungeons, minigames, game modes, and more.

It remains to be seen how many players will stick around to play Diablo Immortal following the release of Diablo IV, but either way, there will be plenty to do for Diablo fans.

Diablo IV is set to launch on June 6 as the latest entry in Blizzard's action RPG series. The game has already had a beta test and a server slam test on May 12, which allowed Blizzard to receive feedback and add necessary changes before the official release.
