Blizzard Reveals Special Reward for Diablo IV Hardcore Players

Complete the game's toughest challenge and have your name immortalized
by Tit Krajnik on May 27, 2023

As revealed by Blizzard, players who will complete the Diablo IV Hardcore challenge and reach level 100 will receive a special reward. The first 1000 players who'll complete the game's challenge will have their username etched in a real-life statue of Lilith, thus carving their name in the history of the Diablo franchise.

During the Diablo IV testing, it has become clear that Diablo IV will offer many challenges for players to test their skill in fighting relentless bosses who took the lives of thousands during the beta tests. Yet that won't stop a sizeable group of players who will take on Diablo IV's most formidable challenge – the Hardcore Mode.

Designed like any Hardcore mode in other RPG games, its main idea is for the players to have only one life, meaning if you die once, you must start over. This makes reaching the highest level both more demanding and rewarding. However, while completing the challenge is a reward enough for some, Blizzard has bigger plans in mind.

As confirmed by Blizzard, the first 1000 Diablo IV players who will reach level 100 and prove their achievement will have their username immortalized on a statue of Lilith as a part of the Diablo IV Hardcore Victories Contest, which will start on June 1, 2023.

According to the competition's terms and conditions, there are a few rules players must follow and a few rules, which include:

  • Entrants must be 18 years of age or older (depending on the relevant jurisdiction)
  • Are not residents of Russia, Belarus, Belgium, Cuba, Iran, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Sudan, Crimea, Syria, and other restricted regions
  • Are not residents of the People's Republic of China, Hong Kong, Macau, or Taiwan
  • Entrants must maintain a Blizzard Battle.net Account in good standing
  • Own a license to Diablo IV
  • Have reached a character level of 100 in "hardcore mode" on Diablo IV and have earned the "Tempered Champion" title in-game

Diablo IV's official release is set for June 6, 2023, whereas those who pre-order Diablo IV will gain early release access, scheduled for June 1 at 4 pm ET. Since the Diablo IV Hardcore Victories Contest will begin on June 1, pre-ordering Diablo IV will essentially be mandatory for anyone serious about completing the challenge or be forced to start the race five days later than the rest of the players.
