Valorant Introduces Major Changes With Patch 6.11

Starting with Patch 6.11, running an gunning won’t be nearly as effective
by Tit Krajnik on May 29, 2023

Riot Games unveiled a long list of significant changes that’ll come to Valorant with Patch 6.11, which includes buffs to Chamber, map, and weapon updates. Yet the most significant change will come in the form of Error Power adjustment, which will effectively nerf the run and gun gameplay.

Valorant Patch 6.11 does not yet have a release date, but Riot Games already shared some details about what players can expect to change in the First-Person Shooter title. Included in the upcoming update are map changes, buffs to Chamber, who was over-nerfed in Patch 5.12, as well as heavy adjustments in one of the game’s core mechanics.

Named Error Power, also known as Center Biasing, is a tool Riot Games implemented in Valorant to reward players’ accuracy by biasing shots towards the centre of the crosshair. The Error Power also applied when players were moving, which made it possible to shoot pretty accurately while moving.

This feature has long been frowned upon by FPS players, especially those coming from Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, where moving while shooting severely punished players by greatly reducing the accuracy of the shots. And now it seems like Riot will take a similar approach.

Starting with Patch 6.11, Riot plans to adjust the centre biasing of Error Power, making every shot far less accurate if the player is moving. This means that bullets fired while moving will have a higher chance of being away from the centre of the crosshair.

Besides making adjustments to Error Power, Riot Games will introduce other changes to the game. Those include Agent updates, miscellaneous changes, weapon updates, and the removal of Pearl from the active map pool.
