Paradox Refunds Vampire: Bloodlines 2 Pre-orders

Everyone who pre-ordered the physical edition can get a refund
by Tit Krajnik on June 07, 2023

Paradox Interactive announced on Wednesday, June 7, that it would issue refunds on all physical pre-orders for Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. The delayed sequel was last available for pre-order in early 2021 before Paradox announced it is parting ways with Hardsuit Labs and pushing the game release date indefinitely.

As confirmed by Paradox Interactive on Wednesday, the publisher will refund everyone who pre-ordered the physical edition of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. That is because the pre-order included bonus content items, which are “no longer representative of the game”.

With the bonus content being updated, the prior physical edition offered items that are no longer representative of the game. This includes the Collector’s Edition created and sold by DPA Merchandising GmbH(formerly Gaya Entertainment GmbH), and all physical versions of the First Blood edition, Unsanctioned edition and Blood Moon edition disc.

As a result, everyone who pre-ordered the Collector’s Edition is available to get a full refund by requesting it in a store where they've pre-ordered the game. On the other side, the digital versions of the First Blood Edition, Unsanctioned Edition and Blood Moon Edition will remain; however, those who bought either of the three is still able to ask for a refund.

“We acknowledge it was a long time ago that many of you pre-ordered Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. As development continues, we will be updating the game’s editions and bonus content, and we want to provide the best value to those of you who supported us via digital pre-order after all this time,” read the announcement.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 was initially set to launch in 2020 before it got pushed back to 2021 and then postponed indefinitely after Paradox fired Brian Mitsoda, the game’s creative director and lead writer, who was also the lead writer of the original game.

As of now, Paradox Interactive has yet to announce who is the title’s new developer; however, as promised, we should get more information in September. Moreover, the publisher confirmed that the game is not abandoned and continues to be worked on, but we’ll have to wait three more months before getting any more information, including the expected release date.
