Everyone Playing Diablo IV is Getting Error Code 300202

Server error prevents character selection, causing issues
by Natalie Collazo on June 09, 2023

Who are all of the characters in the Diablo 4 trailer?

If you're playing Diablo IV, chances are that you have at least a decent internet connection. Even so, it's possible that you've run into a myriad of issues just as a direct result of the game's online-only format. One of the many issues that players have faced is the terrible error code 300202.

Essentially, it is a server error that stops players from choosing their preferred character just before the game begins. Considering the fact that it is a server-based error, there isn't a whole lot that can be done from the player's end. However, there are a few potential fixes that we've laid out just in case the issue is more related to not having a stable connection.

How to fix error code 300202 in Diablo IV

Having to deal with error code 300202 could be annoying when you're trying to slay demons. So, try out one or all of the following to try and get you back in the game:

1. Check the Diablo servers: You can check the official Diablo IV website to see exactly if there is any maintenance happening that could result in a server shutdown.

2. Reboot your router: Enhance your network performance by rebooting your router. Simply unplug the router, wait for approximately one minute, and then plug it back in.

3. Embrace wired connectivity: If you're currently relying on Wi-Fi, consider upgrading to a wired Ethernet connection for faster and more stable internet speeds.

4. Minimize network usage: Take control of your network's speed by reducing the number of devices connected to it. Disconnect non-essential devices that may be contributing to network congestion and slowing down your connection.

5. Exit and re-enter the game: Sometimes, the answer really is as simply as turning it on and off.

Hopefully, this issue will be resolved as time goes on. Right now, it looks like players are moving between that error and having to wait over 1,000 minutes for the queue.
