Assassin's Creed Mirage Adds Nostalgic Filter

Assasin's Creed is to feature an OG hazy blue filter
by Tit Krajnik on June 11, 2023

Those feeling nostalgic about the old Assassin's Creed games ahead of the release of Assassin's Creed Mirage will have the option to relive the old days through familiar colors. As confirmed on Saturday, June 10, the upcoming release will include an OG hazy blue look filter to recapture the look of older game titles.

Those who miss the original hazy blue look of the old Assassin's Creed games will be thrilled to learn that the upcoming Assassins Creed Mirage will include an option to use the filter to recapture the old look.

The hazy blue look is a familiar sight for those who played the game on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3; granted, it would be fairer to say that the colors looked a bit more washed with low saturation rather than blue. But this wasn't the case only with older Assassin's Creed, rather that with all games played on older consoles and those who actually enjoyed the retro look way back in 2007 will get to experience it again.

Regardless of the fact that the older look doesn't look as nice and vibrant colors as newer games, many fans of the series seem to be excited about the recently added feature.

The addition of the nostalgic feature goes well with what Assassin's Creed Mirage wants to achieve, considering it was described as a game that will go "back to the basics", suggesting it will not have the option to look like older titles but also play similarly. This certainly sounds exciting, as it might suggest that it'll focus more on players playing an actual assassin, using parkour to get to his targets and take them down with stealthy takedowns.

Assassin's Creed Mirage was confirmed to release on October 12, and as revealed, it will be smaller than the last few games – only because fans wanted that. But not necessarily in the content it'll provide.

"But amongst our fans, we started hearing the desire for a character-driven story, focused on the core pillars of the first ACs in a more intimate scale. It resonates with us as well as developers, and this was the starting point of the project."

Assassin's Creed Mirage will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
