Fortnite Announces More Weapon Changes Just Days Into Season 3

More weapon changes come in Fortnite Chapter 4, Season 3
by Tit Krajnik on June 13, 2023

Epic Games has been doing an excellent job of keeping Fortnite fresh and enjoyable for the players by constantly releasing updates and new content. Most recently, Epic Games released a jungle-themed Chapter 4 Season 3, which came with new weapons, but just days into the new season, another big update shook up the weapon pool.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 came with everything the fans hoped for, with new vehicles, a new jungle theme, and many new weapons. But as the players are still getting used to new weapons, Epic Games decided it wasn't happy with the changes yet and released some modifications just days after the Season 3 release.

Since the latest update, the fan favourite Red-Eye AR is no longer available, as it was vaulted from the game. The removal of the weapon was officially announced on June 13 by the official Fortnite Twitter account; however, in the same post, it was also unveiled that a new MK-Alpha Assult Rifle will be added to the game as a replacement.

Regardless of the weapon pool shakeup, removing Red-Eye likely won't have that big of an effect on the current meta. However, Epic Games' decision to vault mobility items has caused some stir in the Fortnite community.

Recently, Epic Games removed Spider-Verse Web-Shooters and ODM Gear, two of the most popular mobility items in the game, which made exploring the new map far more tedious, forcing the players to use vehicles to move around and navigate the maps. However, even that is more of an inconvenience than a meta-changing thing.

As we've become accustomed to, the recent update likely isn't the only one Epic Games plans to release this season, with more changes expected to be announced soon. Epic Games has proven to be very active with patches for its battle royale game, which regularly gets updated to keep it balanced and fresh, which explains why the game has remained very popular among players.

Over the last 30 days, Fortnite peaked at over 16 million players, with the average not including the recent spike due to the release of Chapter 4 Season 3. But we're still a bit off from the previous record peak of over 35 million in May 2021.
